- Maybe it's because I've spent just about my entire life in a school of one shape or another, but it's hard for September to conjure up anything other than anxiety and post-summer blues. But thanks to the latest collaboration from Avalon Emerson and Anunaku, my feelings are (slowly) starting to shift. "Eternal September" is a love song to the start of fall in all its foliage and pumpkin spice glory. The synth line hits emotional highs we last heard from Avalon on "The Frontier," while the drum programming is crisp and punchy enough to get you moving. If "cozy" has a sound, this is it.
