- For Washington DC's cross-genre dance music savant dreamcastmoe, last year's After All This EP was an exercise in nostalgic soul-searching and intense passion. On "Complicated," he searches for soul outside of romance, with the repeated chorus, "I don't wanna take it," serving as a decisive rejection of a bumpy love affair. Production-wise, "Complicated" harkens back to the sultry minimalism of post-dubstep era James Blake, where fuzzy chords sound like they're eroding and dreamcastmoe's crooning is tailgated by spooky, pitched-up backing vocals.
