  • MC Escher, the Dutch graphic artist known for his trippy geometric designs, loved infinite loops. His seemingly never-ending cycles of tessellations and mutations play tricks on the mind, challenging perceptions of reality. The same could be said for Ade Kassim's muscular techno chuggers. Over the course of 12 minutes, acid gurgles, hammering kick drums, bleepy synths and background static on "Pink Flamingo" burrow into a techno wormhole. Just as in Escher's work, it becomes hard to notice transitions as each of these elements interlock to form a single metamorphic entity. Borrowing from industrial and hard dance, Kassim, a New York-based DJ and producer who runs a year-old label called Telecom Audio, has concocted a warehouse rave anthem designed for maximum, yet trippy, impact.
