- Samantha Togni's London party (and annual conference) series Boudica launches as a label with a four-track compilation, which acts as the woman-focused platform's mission statement. Togni invites three talents aligned with Boudica's distinctive style of walloping techno, including Lady Blacktronika under her hard-nosed alter ego Femanyst. (Nur Jaber and Wanton Witch also contribute.) Having already played her share of Boudica events, Femanyst knows the drill: unforgiving techno to the very last beat. On "Arp Father," she layers squishy arp chords and between clips of maniac screaming (or is it laughing?) while the kick drums pulverize the everything around them, perfectly capturing the dark, witchy vibe of Boudica.
