  • Alongside Brooklyn's club and dance music renaissance, there has been a healthy resurgence of new minimal producers and parties popping up at TBA venues throughout the city. Two releases in and, alongside outfits like Parang and Decatur, Accessory Records is a key node of this revival. On Changing Conditions, cofounder Simic (originally from Seattle) takes the reins with three slabs of top shelf tech house. The pick of the bunch is the title track, which starts with spacey techno bleeps before a bassline that sounds like it's being bounced off a bongo drum slides in. Once you add in the delayed claps and the wistful lead synth, this is a melancholy groover that sits up there with anything being released by their European counterparts at Pager Records or System Error.
