  • In interviews, Roy Davis Jr often notes how early Chicago house cuts have been rebranded as techno. Regardless of genre, these classics will always be known as the Chicago sound, as the Underground Therapy boss has repeatedly stated. The same can be said for his latest release on new Parisian label Friendsome Records. Built on a free flowing spiritual groove with smatterings of Latin percussion, syncopated patterns and squiggly acid, the title track hints at disco, psychedelia and house. Made entirely with analog instruments, it speaks to Chicago's rich history of sonic cross-pollination and the artist's own soulful palette.
