- Deep and soulful dance tracks with a splash of seltzer.
- Nabil Kizoku's last solo 12-inch featured song titles like "Wrong Answers Only." Despite their meme-friendly names, those tracks showed a producer able to wrestle emotive ghosts from his machines. On MINERAL 006, he gets even deeper. We have Detroit-referencing chords on the brittle "Let 2nd Serve," and you could toast a marshmallow over the warm bass on the downtempo "Halftime." But my favorite is "Garage 2120." It takes a while to find its syncopated swing, but when it does—and adds an arpeggiated synth that bubbles like a splash of club soda—you'll find both your body and mind locked in.
