- Remember that stompy '90s house revival that swept the scene in the early 2010s? House music will never die, but in order to live, it must evolve. Earl Jeffers was making the Kerri Chandler / King Street-style stuff back then, but in recent years, he's opened up his sound into something more lithe and musical, indebted to his primary musical obsession: jazz. On his first release in two years, he gets a key assist from the legendary Kaidi Tatham, whose flute solos adorn the warm, exuberant house track. Still, it's hard not to imagine how the right vocal could have elevated this one from great to timeless.
