- OSSX, the New Jersey duo of Lektor Scopes and EQUISS, get personal on their new EP. Featuring samples of Mariah Carey and Gangstarr, the release shows us the styles that influenced their formative years. Nearly every track starts heavy and "HARD 2 LOVE" is no exception. But the sample of Common's "I Used To Love H.E.R," which itself sampled George Benson's "The Changing World," adds a poignant counter to blistering breaks. As distinct as that melody is, it doesn't overshadow the record. Towards the end, OSSX lose the sample and go nuclear with deep basslines and hammering drums instead.
