  • As the growing amapiano movement spreads across the world from South Africa, the exciting potential of fusing its complex, pulsing rhythms with sounds like UK funky is epitomised by tracks like "See Something." In this cross-continental collaboration linking London to Accra, Earth Kicks label owner Mina joins with UK-based Ghanaian vocalist Bryte. The latest of several intriguing joint projects, the track blends elements of UK funky, Afrobeat, house and amapiano to conjure tight, lively dancehall-inspired percussion, along with a thick, descending bassline that cuts through forcefully and provides a major secondary hook. It seems apt that "See Something"'s accompanying video has the pair don tennis whites and hit the court—they've served up an ace with this one.
