- 西 WEST & 東 EAST is a new series from Hong Kong-based Fauve Records that focuses on cross-border collaborations. The first volume, featuring Bali-based legend Dea Barandana of Potato Head Beach Club and Morocco-based trio Mameen 3, is a heady blend of disco, electro and house, but it's Dea that steals the spotlight. "Mesopotamia" balances light and darkness with glistening keys, psychedelic textures that feel inspired by Morocco and chugging drums that could easily overpower the track but remain a supporting player. Made for transient moments, this is classic Dea in sunset session mode.
