Taiyo - Mountain

  • Calming downtempo folk inspired by untouched wilderness.

  • In Mongolia, the mountains inspire the local throat singing tradition. Elsewhere, lofty peaks play host to prayers. On his first EP in nearly a decade, Osaka artist Taiyo taps into the quiet power of towering bluffs using a tranquil blend of flutes, gentle percussion, meditative chants and various folk instruments. With its winding pace and mists of synths, "Mountain" is slow enough that you can zone out to it, but it's not spa fare either. Brooding textures and the flute's wafting timbre create mood changes and bursts of energy to help get you to the other side of that cliff.
