- There is a slight creepiness to Jenifa Mayanja's latest EP. Often her music is soft and billowy, as if lost in a daydream. Scheme also evokes being lost, but this time the feeling is closer to running through a maze. From the organ chords on "Avryday" to the choppy xylophone on "Under The Influence," Mayanja sounds claustrophobic and anxious this time around. It's an effective pivot for her, especially on "Many Faces." The track starts friendly enough before the Mayanja steadily repeating "another world" alongside minor key pads and strings, a powerful mix of otherworldly longing and unease.
