Kosh - The World Inside

  • A new label hits the bustling Moroccan underground.

  • Morocco has become one of the world's hotspots for slinky house and slick electro thanks to a flood of great records and labels like Casa Voyager. Now there's a new imprint to add to the fray with Kosh's Convergence. The first EP is a worthy debut, with four tracks that jump between techno, house and electro, all with the same palette of bright synths and warm low-end. The title track and its stargazing melodies—and addictive swing—might be my favourite, but it's easy to fall for the tunneling basslines of "The Infinite Loop," which closes out the EP with a slice of afterhours house. It's the kind of track that keeps the party going at a smooth clip without ruffling any feathers.
