- Temptation and violence are at the core of nearly everything Vancouver artist Debby Friday produces. In "RUNNIN," Friday maintains her irreverence, naming a series of offenses she's committed, all connected by one justification: that's the way you like to play. Alien ASMR intonations open up the track, leading up to a creeping melody and slick lyrics which gradually devolve into Tierra Whack-style gibberish. In the music video, chirping insects and a phantom-like melody close while Friday disappears into the night, leaving us with the palpable silence of her absence.
