- Nene H's Beast is the first solo record on Paris label Possession, and it's exactly the kind of roughneck yet groovy techno we've come to expect from the Berlin-based artist. "Hush now, it's my turn to talk," a voice commands on the opener, where eerie chords mist over a swinging five-note bassline. Whatever level-headedness that track retained is purged in VTSS's edit, where a clobbering kick slices through each distilled beat. In "Beast," a tangle of mumbled vocals forge a dynamic dialogue with a smattering of hi-hats. Closing out, Hadone's edit of the track is tailored for high ceilings and vast concrete floors, adding a surge of energy with a momentum-building synth line.
