Parlange - Return to Mars EP

  • This label has without a doubt shone brightly over the last year with some heavyweight tracks from the likes of Kosmas Epsilon,Stian Klo&Thomas Noking as "Seyton" and Luke Chable and here we see for their eighth release the signing of the Return to Mars EP from American Dj/Producer Parlange. On the A side is Parlange's dub mix of Mexican electro band Fase's - Tren which starts off at a slow rumbling pace with a weighty concoction of hats and moody bassline building with delayed vocals and minute atmospheric sounds. The beat drops out briefly with the assistance of an effected vocal cut before an incessant, springy synthline takes over till the break, taking it back down, peeling back to just a pensive melody and vocal then winding back up with all the elements back in place creating a dirty,low-down groove. The first track on the B side comes in a the tighter form of Between, kicking off from the start with a combination of broken rhythms and beats along with moody, growling bassline underneath a scintillating blend of organic melodies. This all conjures up a sense of reminiscence as they intertwine and contort around string phrases. The track constantly builds with sublime layering of the melodies that takes us unawares throughout. Last up is the title track of the Ep -Return to Mars which is more of a peaktime number with delaying, tweaked sounds ontop of driving bassline and deep synth chords while a vocal becomes more hypnotic in its delivery. There seems no let up in the consistency of this label and making an appearance in digital form only are Parlange's vocal mix of Tren and a Vek remix of Return to Mars so don't hang about in grabbing a copy of them too.
