Funk Harmony Park - Planet P

  • The Fade family recently welcomed Icelandic outfit Funk Harmony Park onboard with their debut release My Truth .Known already as an established electronic music band in their home country they've stepped up the pace with their second offering on offshoot label FDS recordings with an eye brow raising sound that's quite refreshing . Planet P is short sleeves and summer haze, lazy afternoons where u sit back and watch the world go by as Funk HP stir up a raunchy mix of scintillating melodic moods that get right inside of us.This is injected with a pure funk from the start as bassline and guitar cuts take the forefront while uplifting sweeps add to the lush ,atmospheric pairing of intertwined sounds .The flow is kept at constant with a finely tuned house beat with a sprinkling of drop outs and stuttery cuts that tweak up the feel good factor by ten.Forget the corneto..head straight for the 99's and pick up a flake too as it seems like the sun will be shining when Funk HP are around. The Steve Porter remix grasps the original by the balls and paints over it a picture of Porterhouse, jacking it up with a concoction of steroid beats, beefed up rhythms and a melodic almost warpy pulsation that doesn't hang about in making its mark. This music speaks for itself . The group wrap this release up with the Bedtime mix which is tougher, peakier, a kind of dirty funk with its string phrases and narky vocals re-enforcing a more tech house beat. Funk HP have locked up inside their music that little bit of something magical, and aura that emanates a sense of comfort which takes over your feet, your head and anyone within listenable distance.
