Kiro vs Undecided feat. Miss Kitten B - Obsession

  • Following on from Sinosine's 2 Systems 1 Country release, Mob return for 2005 with another new signing, this time going to the US to nab Kiro and Undecided. Kiro has had quite a history with dance music, producing various styles from trance, progressive and breakbeat. He's finally decided to settle with breakbeat and has enlisted the help of Undecided and the vocals of Miss Kitten B to create Obsession. Rogue Element, who's been creating waves with tunes like High Noon, My Style and his new one Just Bash Out takes care of the remix. Side A. Original Mix Mob display their deep and progressive feathers for this release with a tune where deep bass, crisp drum programming, girlie laughter, hip hop scratches and electro vocal stabs mingle. In some ways this harks back to the breakbeat styles that Adam Freeland was popularising back when he was doing his Coastal Breaks thing with atmospheric sweeps and techy flavours - there's even a triplet break added in for variation. Side B. Rogue Element Mix In true Rogue Element style, his mix is designed for rocking the dancefloor and he drops an infectious party break and that trademark Rogue Element growling bassline. Alarm stabs, drum fills and electro hooks make up the juice of the tune and during the breakdown there's a twist to the vocals - almost to the tune of Adam Freeland's (there's that name again!) We Want Your Soul. Progressively the tune builds up towards the end where it goes down a big rave ride in the vein of JDS "Nine Ways". This is the mix to go for here! Personally I'm not digging the Original mix, however those who dig the deep, techy sounds of breaks would find favour with it.
