- Raw, touching techno from the thriving scene in Washington, DC.
- Washington, DC has an active techno scene, with enough local DJs and artists to hold up against other major cities. People like Tara Algios, AKA Jett Chandon, keep that scene running. A resident at the roving warehouse party ROAM, her debut EP for the Brooklyn label Kontainer gives her a chance to strike outside of the city. Julia is a varied techno record, but the best track is the electro-tinged "Flutter," which is raw and ready for big rooms. It's a roller with plenty of reverb and massive low-end, but those eerie foghorns make it epic, twitchy and nervous. In a world full of menacing techno, it's nice to hear a different perspective.
