- The Berlin-based Slow Life label has built a distinct sound that's deep, dreamy and intergalactic. When an artist debuts there, they usually return to the tight-knit collective for another release. Memory Feedback introduces Tim Jackiw, an Ukrainian/Australian producer with a mostly self-released catalogue played out by DJs like Jane Fitz and LNS.
It's been 12 years since Jackiw has put out music that wasn't self-released, and Slow Life is the perfect label to introduce his drifting house sound to new listeners. If dreamy pads are your wheelhouse, then Memory Feedback has plenty to offer. It's a 12-inch for a party's slower moments, and is likely to have dancers swaying gently, eyes closed. "Timeline"'s soft Balearic touch sets the mood, with echoing percussion flitting in the background. Jackiw's gentle approach filters through to the lightly brushing hi-hats that run through the record. "Turbulence" incorporates a storm of percussion into the calm of enchanting piano strokes and cinematic pads for a more turbulent finish.
