Etostone – Waiting For U / Pain

  • Erase Records return for their second release, after the mighty impressive debut release that was helped greatly by the Belgian duo of Pole Folder & CP. This time Etostone deliver two original works that are again of a very high quality from this label that looks like it has good times ahead. Waiting for U is on the a-side, and it is a very solid breakbeat record to say the least. The beats are very impressive, in fact they definitely make this one of the standout progressive breaks track this year. A baseline hums quite nicely in the background, as vocal samples come in and out creating quite a solid atmosphere. The flow is simply addictive, and the mood is eerily enticing, creating an overall gem of a production. Pain was always going to have a tough time living up to the lovely a-side, but it tries its hardest but turning up the heat, perhaps a little too much. The acidic riffs are a touch too intense, really screeching its way into the production at times, but the track has some solid points like the nice break beat pattern yet again, and some nice effects at times. Another pretty strong release from Erase, with the a-side in particular creating a bit more excitement.
