- It's all off-kilter percussion and murkiness in T Kode & Lunatik's anything-but-ordinary debut, Tunnel. "Direct" teases open the rabbit hole with staccato effects and lashings of groove. It jitters and hiccups along, gathering clangs and pausing for a moment before the weirdness takes the lead.
"Tunnel" steers us through a gurgling underground network full of reverb and growling, pitch-black oddities. The hi-hats and snares keep "Tunnel" more regimented than "Direct," but it's still far from conventional. "Operator" closes the EP with an even smoother run; its didgeridoo oscillations form a buzzing, tribal production. The track completes a fairly bizarre yet purposeful package from this interesting new duo.
