- Don't bother looking into Kanthor, as there's not a whole lot of information out there. The artist has remained fairly aloof on both Facebook and Soundcloud, and issued only a few stealthy releases. Which is fine; this music doesn't need much context anyways. It's deep, meditative, encompassing techno, of the kind that wants you to get lost in its timbres alone.
The swirling dub chords in "Introw" open Abnormality before it takes an elongated and largely hypnotic approach. This one's staked with dark atmospheres, gently tinkering bells and vast billowing spaces. It's the sort of thing that can teeter on monochromatic, but Kanthor applies enough subtle blue tones to nudge it from the background into the arena of warm ups and wind downs. "Matterialist" is definitely the highlight here, if only for its tendency towards something more melodious than the rest.
