  • *Back Catalogue Review* Based on my other reviews of Roch Dadier’s work, it is clear to see that I am a big fan of his productions. His EP’s on his beloved Portrait Records have displayed great diversity and unique approaches which is essential to a good producer. The La Pierre Polie EP by Roch Dadier is again another demonstration as to why I have so much respect for Roch’s work. The title track, La Pierre Polie is a track that has seen great support from Lee Burridge and James Zabiela in particular. If the delicate and quirky drums in the opening few moments don’t grab you then the ridiculously large baseline certainly will. Its unique wobble is definitely dancefloor friendly as is the ‘brand new vibe’ vocal lines. A great track by a great producer. Following the track is a set of Loops that feature loops from parts of ‘La Pierre Polie’. Multitasking follows firstly on the flip. Deep base undertones flow smoothly while the snare drum makes a solid impact in the production creating a great techy soundscape. Quite a steady flow throughout, but yet it remains quite enticing for its entirety. Multicode Application is a quirky production that oozes in style. Incredibly unique, it uses quirky kick patterns, screeching base wobbles, vocal samples, and random effects to make it a tech house lovers dream. Thin Craig Richards on one of his Fabric sessions. Another release on Portrait, another winner. You should know what to expect from La Pierre Polie but don’t be fooled by the tracks on the flip, they are just as well produced and addictive as the a-side. Must purchase material here.
