- Next up on Bedrock is an interesting release from Morgan Page & Gregory Shiff featuring Astrid Suryanto. It sees Bedrock travel down a more house influenced road and also sees some great vocals put to use with All I Know.
On the a-side, the Original Mix begins with some nice 4/4 drums and some floaty effects in the background. Soon enough the lush vocals of Astrid begin the journey of this production, as some smooth piano rings behind the chorus. Variation in the track comes when the beats become scattered midway, combined with some vocal effects. It does maintain a similar flow, however, it seems to work really well with the vocals, and as such doesn’t really become repetitive in any way. A very smooth production.
MAS Collective are on remix duties on the flip and begin proceedings with a nice kick drum and soothing effects. A nice deep rolling baseline enters early on and it is clear to see that MAS have given the remix more of a progressive edge then the housey original. The vocals work well as they float over smooth strings as the production builds with some swirly synths and an increase in the drum activity. The vocals also get some cheeky effects, but the track takes a turn for the delightful when deep in, some classic stuttering synths give it a bit of a mid 90’s epic feel. Another great reworking by MAS Collective.
Another very solid release by Bedrock , and a release that demonstrates that they are willing to mix it up a bit and try some different combinations.
