Max Mason – Doinit

  • The latest offering on Alternative route comes from Max Mason with Doinit. Already licensed on Lee Burridge’s latest 24:7 compilation for Global Underground, this record oozes originality and style. The Original Mix begins with a great intro of deep, dark and trippy sounds that build for a good few minutes until a solid 4/4 house beat enters the production. A nice subtle funky baseline gives the track a great groove in the early stages as it builds with infrequent vocal samples and cheeky little stabbing effects. It’s a production that is very sexy and is sure to move people on the dancefloor, a clear reason why the likes of Desyn Masiello has been hammering this production for a good while. The Dubbing it at Night mix gets straight into the action from the word go with a chunky 4/4 beat pattern. The baseline has been given a reworking, and safe to say its been beefed up a bit, while the vocal samples seem to appear more frequently than the original mix. The production gradually changes with little effects throughout, a tactic that keeps it interesting throughout. This is a release that is sure to get Alternative Route into more record boxes. It’s a release built with solid house grooves and interesting sounds. With this release as well as the next instalment by Chable & Bonnici, Alternative Route are sure to be amongst the firm favourites with many record collectors out there.
