1200 Techniques - Where Ur At?

  • One of Melbourne's finest live hip hop trio's, 1200 Techniques return with Where Ur At? - the lead single from their soon to be released second album and the follow up to their last hit, Karma. Where Ur At? is a funk fueled excursion through old-skool hip hop - disco guitars, bass lines, plenty of cheeky cowbells (you can never have enough cowbell!) and handclaps while MC Nfamas delivers rhymes as if he's been inspired by Eminem - while keeping the lyrical content focused on the good times - positive light-hearted hip hop with a little G-funk flavour. The 12" vinyl comes complete with three versions - the original which has been recieving massive airplay on radio and two Peep My remixes. Peep My Remix 1 sticks close to the original theme and features vocals from an unknown songstress, while Peep My Remix 2 is one for the breakers on the floor utilising a more syncopated breakbeat. Don't dig the vocals? Then flip the vinyl over and get the instrumentals. Overall, a pretty decent release from 1200 - it's definitely one tune to rock a block party but perhaps really didn't need all the remixes as the tunes pretty much sound the same.
