- Anyone who knows very little about dance music will recognize the name Deep Dish for their remixes of songs by mainstream pop artists like Madonna and Justin Timberlake. There are reasons why Ali Shirazinia and Sharam Tayebi are where they are today. Just listen to Muzik Magazine’s 'Compilation of the Year' (1995), Penetrate Deeper – back in stores on September 2nd. Each song flows smoothly into the next and offers a balanced combination of non-vocal and vocal tracks, capturing a fun and light-hearted groove that drives the whole disk. Surprisingly, even with the slightly antiquated air surrounding most of the tracks, they can still stand up to today’s new electronic music and get the body moving.
Feeling a bit nostalgic for the days of well-produced tracks that actually exhibited some rarely-ever-heard-nowadays solid songwriting? I’d recommend picking up this CD or digging through your old records. You won’t be disappointed or surprised by what you hear.
