- House with an idiosyncratic twist seems to be Moliner's modus operandi. Taken at face value "As Become" sounds like standard—albeit proficiently executed—murky house music. But, in the background, Moliner drops in what sounds like a field recording taped in a billiards hall, adding in an unsettling vocal straight from the Guillermo del Toro school of weirdness.
Best-known for his releases on Toolroom, Belfast producer Deep City Groove seeks out more widespread appeal. Bobby Murray's version is the pick of the bunch. He wraps the track in a rubbery groove and reversed synths, sending it bouncing towards a tripped-out, squealing breakdown. Nascent Mallorca producer Guri doesn't veer too wildly from the original, content to scatter it with frothy snares and trembling synths. Yep, these tracks won't change your life, but they're three decent enough dance floor tools.
