Taishan - The Shake Off

  • Taishan returns to Resin Records for the 4th release of the label. After enjoying noticeable success with Low Blow, he returns with another infectious cut for Resin in ‘The Shake Off’. It is also accompanied by a quality remix from Brazilian producer MT that is sure to shake some people on the dance floor. On the a-side is the Original Mix. The track begins with some nicely arranged broken beats and hint of electro chords, while the deep baseline trickles underneath the layers of sound. A delicious electro melody soon hits the airwaves as the vocal also hits the track. The track break down midway as the techy sounds build to introduce the beats back into the fray. A quality dance floor cut this one. On the flip is the MT Sao Paolo Re-rub. Overall this is quite not as intense as the original mix, however, it does have a eerie quirkiness about it. The beats are stuttered and the electro melodies remain as do the scratch effects from the original, not to mention the vocal samples. The track slows down nicely midway and then speeds up back to normal resumption which is quite an effective technique used. Quite a nice mix from MT, a rework that gives the release a bit of a skewed outlook. A solid release from Resin. Designed solely for the dance floor this release is, it has a baseline that is nasty and a hook that will capture you. Worth a look.
