- Earlydub Records is based in Beziers, France, and on the evidence of this release, Spanish producer Medu shares the languid sensibility implicit in its surroundings. Because while normally the name alone would put me off, Organic Jam's three tracks share a lazy, summery vibe, and are implicitly funky without ever overstating their case.
There isn't much to these tunes, but their simplicity and liveliness make them endearing. "Misteriously" is maybe more structured than "Organic Jam" but both tracks come across as products of the same session. "Misteriously" hits its stride quicker, and is a crisper production, while "Organic Jam," as its name suggests, sprawls a bit more. "Spacy" has more rigid percussion, but still has the same lazy feel as the rest of the EP. A cool little record that is warm and groovy in the right places.
