- Leave it to Boddika & Joy Orbison to sneak out one of their most anticipated dubplates with zero fanfare. "Tricky's Team" has been tantalizing audiences for a while. Alternating between abstract collage and full-on techno, it's one of the duo's most substantial tracks yet.
The first thing we hear on "Tricky's Team" is a single synth bleep echoed into oblivion, an alarm call that repeats throughout. It's the closest thing the track has to the insistent hooks of their other records—instead of a speech snippet, there are quietly murmured syllables and other detritus stretched and pulled beyond recognition. The chaos is underpinned by an intermittent beat that'll keep both DJs and dancers on their toes.
