- Misstress Barbara and Cobblestone Jazz, two of Canada's finest techno exports, are playing in New York this week. Misstress Barbara was mostly quiet last year, aside from a turn towards the melodic with her releases on Border Community and her own label Iturnem. One reason she was quiet in 2007 is why you should be interested in seeing her DJ: she'll most likely play a cut or two from her upcoming debut artist album, due out later this year. Playing before her will be the jazz-techno trio Cobblestone Jazz, composed of Mathew Jonson, RA podcaster Tyger Dhula and Danuel Tate. Expect a bit of that improvisatory flair throughout the night from the boys, as well as some tunes from last year's 23 Seconds.
