  • Dubfire from Deep Dish kicks off his Asian tour in Tokyo this weekend in support of new remixes of Nic Fanciulli and Robbie Rivera. Dubfire is one half of Washington progressive duo Deep Dish. The pair are now forging solo careers as DJs and producers, and this weekend Dubfire flies into Asia for the first of nine dates including gigs in Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Thailand. In Tokyo, he'll spin alongside Darren Emerson while China hook-ups include Paolo Mojo and Carl Cox. Dubfire Asia tour dates Dec 01 Ageha, Tokyo (with Darren Emerson) Dec 02 Zepp, Sendai Dec 06 Space Lab Yellow, Tokyo Dec 08 Friday, G Plus, Hangzhou, China (with Paolo Mojo) Dec 09 O2, Shanghai, China (with Paolo Mojo) Dec 13 Angel, Beijing, China Dec 15 Dubfire, Zouk, Singapore Dec 16 Cyberport, Hong Kong (with Carl Cox) Dec 20 Astra, Bangkok Dubfire recently wrapped up what's tipped to be one of the biggest progressive remixes of the year - a 13-minute rerub of Nic Fanciulli's 'Lucky Heather'. The original was big this summer with DJs such as Laurent Garnier and Hernan Cattaneo but the new mix could mean it grows legs well into the new year. The remix, due out on December 11, 2006 on Renaissance Digital, has already got the big thumbs up from its original producer. Fanciulli told RA: "Dubfire was going to deliver two mixes in two different styles but he ended up with a thirteen and a half minute mix that is the two mixes sort of fused into one. The first seven minutes is just a barrage of drum rolls and noises with a really clever tech house groove, and the last five or six go into a deep house vibe. The remix is really, really clever and well thought out." Dubfire will also put out a remix of Robbie Rivera's 'Float Away' next month on You Records. In March he releases his first solo single, a cover of Love And Rocket's ' Feel Speed' on his new label Science + Technology with his Global Underground mix 'Taipei' to follow in April. Check Dubfire's MySpace page for clips of his two new remixes.
