  • Berlin has a new club. Taking over the space previously used by Mensch Meier, which closed in December 2023, Abstrakt is the sister venue to the neighbouring Anomalie Art Club. The two venues share the same building and plan to host joint parties together as Anomalie District. Abstrakt opened its doors on April 5th. "As Anomalie is already known for its big techno bookings, in Abstrakt we've curated a more playful experience with colourful dance floors, light installations and a more diverse music policy that includes house, disco, downtempo, trance and of course techno," Abstrakt's Irini Kefalas told Resident Advisor. "We've also installed Funktion-One sound systems on every floor, and we aim to cultivate a bigger community where art, music, consistency and culture immerse together. Everyone can be part of it." Upcoming parties at Abstrakt include Neogenese on Friday, April 19th, with the likes of Al Aslan, Opal and DJ Saunameister, followed by BeYond with Kapoor, luçïd and more on Thursday, May 9th.
