City Soul, a New York promoter known for throwing parties on its moving bus, is urgently raising funds.
On March 14th, owner Alan Gibson discovered that the bus was robbed and missing two CDJs, a mixer, two speakers, two subwoofers, lights and more. A crowdfunding campaign was launched on March 18th to replace the stolen gear and managed to reach its goal in just one day after Four Tet, Skrillex and Fred again.. each donated $4,200. The trio performed on the bus together in Times Square last year.
Gibson said the $20,000 goal covers the missing items, but noted that City Soul could use additional funds for bus repairs, parking fees as well as artist fees to expand and diversify their programming.
"Thank you to Skrillex, Four Tet and Fred again..," Gibson told Resident Advisor. "They really saved our bacon."
