  • female:pressure, an online database and network of women and nonbinary people in the music industry, has unveiled its 2024 FACTS report. Published today, March 8th, the report analyses the gender demographics of festival lineups. The organisers collected data from 175 editions of 110 different festivals that ran between 2022 and 2023. According to the data, women made up 30 percent of bookings. This represents a significant increase from 2012 (9.2 percent), when the first FACTS report was published. Nonbinary folks made up 3 percent in 2022 and 2023. The report also highlighted some of the festivals that booked the most women in 2023 (Hyperreality, Norbergfestival, Horst Arts & Music) and those with the highest proportion of male acts (Audio Garden, Time Warp, Boom Festival). "There's clearly still a significant imbalance in gender representation on electronic music festival stages today," female:pressure wrote. Read the full report.
