  • Yuval Hen, cofounder of London club E1, has resigned as director following allegations that he recently served with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in Gaza. According to Companies House, the Israeli club owner and former photographer left his post at E1 Records Limited, Studio Spaces Limited and UP Space Limited earlier today, February 16th. Hen's business partner, Oren Arush, remains in charge across all three companies. The resignation follows allegations that surfaced yesterday on Instagram via a joint post by Ravers For Palestine and Writers Against the War on Gaza (WAWOG). It features a screenshot of a now-deleted Facebook post from someone who appears to know Hen. The text references Hen fighting "somewhere in Gaza" and is accompanied by a photo of him seemingly in IDF uniform. In a statement shared with Resident Advisor, E1 said it has "no connection to political movements" and confirmed that its "previous owner" had "stepped away in October due to being deeply affected by the ongoing crisis across Israel and Palestine." The club added: "We'll continue to provide a safe space for people to enjoy club culture in East London." In response to the situation, popular sex-positive party Klub Verboten cut ties with E1 earlier today via a statement on Instagram Stories. It won't return to the club from March onwards, though tonight's event, featuring Grace Dahl, will go ahead as planned. Read Ravers For Palestine and WAWOG's post in full. We'll report more on this story as it unfolds.
