  • JUNA is a new listening space with a club room in India's beach state of Goa. Renovated from a traditional Portuguese bungalow, the venue features an outdoor space with a cocktail bar, restaurant, custom-built sound system by Delhi-based Reign Acoustics and views of a surrounding paddy field with palm trees. A separate 100-capacity indoor area called the sound room, which has another bespoke sound system and a rotary mixer, hosts DJs and performances. Since officially opening early last month, JUNA has hosted the likes of Chloé Robinson, Kareem Ali, Ayesha and plenty of India-based artists, including Chhabb, Anushka and Zokhuma. JUNA aims to be a hub for the music community in Goa and around India, the team told Resident Advisor. "In recent years, Goa has transformed into a dynamic hub for nightlife and hospitality," cofounder Munbir Chawla told RA. "As that shift has happened, we wanted to present a version of our ideal spot to gather with friends"—a spot, he continued, that prioritises "musical excellence, sound and drinks." JUNA was cofounded by two local entities: Hideaway Café & Bar and Arcade, a creative agency helmed by Magnetic Fields Festival founders Chawla and Kunal Lodhia alongside collaborator Dame Rynjah.
