- Inspired by a type of raga called Raga Bageshri, the LP is out this March through Leaving Records.
Indian artist and composer Arushi Jain is releasing a new album this year.
Out on March 29th via Leaving Records, Delight was inspired by Raga Bageshri. A raga is a rhythmic structure specific to Indian classical music and Bageshri refers to the feeling of wanting to reunite with a loved one.
"It triggers within me immense devotion, juxtaposed with a poignant acknowledgment of suffering; for love as immense is often challenging to reciprocate," said Jain, who's based in New York. "We come into this world alone and we leave alone. Despite this knowledge, the human capacity for love is without reservation, which I find magnanimous."
Delight follows Jain's debut album, Under the Lilac Sky, in 2021. Its nine tracks were mastered by Daddy Kev.
