  • DJ, broadcaster and promoter Emily Dust has launched a podcast about DJ and club culture called Dances for Buildings. The ten-episode interview series went live today, February 1st, with UK funky great Roska. Upcoming guests include Jamz Supernova, DJ Paulette, Kampire, BADSISTA, Bianca Oblivion, Arthi and Karen Nyame KG. Speaking to Resident Advisor, Dust said the name was inspired by the connection between architecture and dancing. "It feels like we need to dance for buildings at the moment–or at least talk about them to be reminded why physical spaces are important," she said. This is why, she added, the series "documents some of the most important clubs in the world for tomorrow–while celebrating the art of DJing and connecting with the crowd." She continued: "I'm also refocusing the conversation to include more global and women voices and a wider range of genres under the umbrella of dance music." When she's not DJing or working in radio, Dust co-runs Baile LDN, a party celebrating club music from around the world. The next event is on Saturday, February 10th, at The Hackney Social, with Tribal Brothers (AKA LR Groove & Razzlerman). Listen to the first episode.
