  • Detroit public radio station WDET is increasing its local programming. Beginning the week of February 5th, the station will present six new evening shows hosted by members of the local music community. The shift in programming commemorates the station's 75th anniversary. Underground Music Academy founder Waajeed will present a two-hour show on Wednesday evenings. Entitled The Boulevard, the show will span "house, techno, electro and all forms of dance music." Ann Arbor DJ and producer Shigeto also contributes to the new programming, hosting The New Music Show on Saturdays, which will champion "underrepresented and independent" artists. The wide-spanning programme also features various other music styles, including a jazz show with saxophonist Kaleigh Wilder, rock and soul with Mike Latulippe, emerging live acts with music journalist Jeff Milo and community-focussed sounds with Liz Warner.
