  • Online music magazine Fact is ending its legendary mix series after 16 years and 940 episodes. "Our first mix of 2024 will be the last mix of this series in its current form," the team wrote below the final instalment, by Tati au Miel. "Fact will continue to provide a platform for new talent and established artists and showcase the present and future of electronic music and art." Launched in 2008 with FACT Mix 01 - Count & Sinden, the series covered the breadth of electronic music and platformed everyone from Murcof, Autechre and Slowdive to Josey Rebelle, Mary Lattimore and Ellen Allien. In 2012, the series switched visual identities, moving from photos of the artists to drawings—a style that quickly became iconic. The aesthetic changed again in 2017 to a more abstract design. Spanning 51 minutes, Tati au Miel's final entry includes music by Aphex Twin, Fatima Al Qadiri, Playboi Carti, Crystallmess and Klein. "There are references in my art to the queer, trans, LGBTQIA+ community, as well as to gender-fluid Black people, that bring a lot of positivity to my personal experience," said the Montreal-based artist. According to Fact, "almost every mix we have ever published" will remain in the archives on SoundCloud and Mixcloud. "As Fact has always maintained, there has been no more exciting time in the history of music than right now—you only have to listen." Listen to Fact 940: Tati au Miel, alongside five classic mixes from over the years.
