  • Floating Points has scored his first ballet. Launched by Tamara Rojo, artistic director for the San Francisco Ballet, Mere Mortals explores parallels between today's AI- and tech-driven world and the ancient Greek myth of Pandora. Aszure Barton is behind the choreography, while Floating Points and the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra will perform the soundtrack live. Mere Mortals will run at War Memorial Opera House from January 26th through February 1st. Every evening show will be followed by an afterparty featuring either Nooka Jones or Mozhgan on the decks. Though this is Floating Points' first time scoring a ballet, he previously collaborated with the London Symphony Orchestra and the late Pharoah Sanders on the RA-recommended album, Promises, in 2021.
