  • IKLECTIK has lost its fight with Lambeth Council and will be evicted next month. The London venue broke the news on Instagram yesterday, December 21st, confirming that the demolition and redevelopment of its Old Paradise Yard premises will go ahead as scheduled. "We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who supported us and our community throughout these challenging months," the post read. The not-for-profit music and arts space will host a handful of events, including takeovers from The Wire Magazine (January 17th) and Baba Yaga's Hut (January 19th), before closing its doors on January 20th. IKLECTIK does hope to carry on in some capacity, and is "actively working" on the next chapter. The venue fought a spirited campaign opposing the demolition, which is set to make way for the largest single office development ever built in the Borough of Lambeth. A petition opposing it has amassed more than 40,000 signatures. Read the full statement.
