  • The Los Angeles branch of Ace Hotel is shutting its doors. According to SFGATE, the hotel's last day of service will be January 31st. Through the years, it's hosted club nights featuring the likes of Colored Craig, Spiñorita, Dara Genesis, PBDY, baby.com as well as a Sunday residency with popular radio programme dublab. Representatives for the business told SFGATE that the owners of the building for the hotel decided to convert the space into a "limited-service, rooms-only operation" which will be handled by a tech platform. It's unclear how this will differ from the current operation. The Theater at Ace DTLA is forecasted to stay open for live events after rebranding. "We count ourselves fortunate to have made a home in downtown Los Angeles for the past decade," they said. "While the neighborhood has been slow to recover following Covid-19, it was remarkable to be a part of the exceptional revitalization the area experienced during those years." The venue's music programme for the remainder of 2023, which bills Shane Thomas, Swazi Sunshine and foreigner, will go ahead as planned. Get information in the event listings below.
