  • Content warning: This article contains descriptions and photos of physical assault. Detroit artists Supercoolwicked and Omar-S have accused each other of assault. Over the weekend, Supercoolwicked, real name Morgan Hutson, posted on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram about an alleged incident that took place at Detroit venue Paramita Sound on Saturday, November 4th. Hutson said she confronted Omar-S, AKA Alex Omar Smith, over $10,000 in unpaid royalties for their collaboration, "What's Good For The Goose," which came out in October 2021 on Smith's FXHE Records. "He responded with 'fuck you bitch' and proceeded to physically assault me including smashing a glass onto my head," Hutson wrote. "It took three men to pull this grown man off of me while he pulled my hair. This was done in public with no concern of who saw, and many did. I am in shock, still processing, and taking the necessary legal steps." A few hours later, Paramita Sound issued a statement on Instagram with the caption: "We stand with Morgan." The venue called the alleged altercation between the two "reprehensible," "disgusting" and "unacceptable." Moving forward, they've cut ties with Omar-S and FXHE Records and have banned Smith from the venue. Following the alleged incident, several current and former FXHE artists, including Fullbodydurag, John FM and JMT, have released public statements condemning Omar-S's behaviour and distancing themselves from the label. HiTech, who are associated with both artists, has also publicly sided with Supercoolwicked. Earlier today, London club Ministry Of Sound cancelled Omar-S's performance this weekend. Yesterday, November 6th, Smith responded to Hutson's allegations via Instagram with a rebuttal and counter-allegations. "I'm offended and hurt by the lies and salacious attacks to my character," he wrote. "To be scrutinised and called names is one thing, and to suffer the physical abuse by Supercoolwicked is another. But for her to say that I attacked her pure and utter fabrication." He added: "If someone believes that I owe them something, I have always been open to talking about it. If that doesn't work, I will refer them to my lawyer, Todd Russell Perkins." Read Hutson, Smith and Paramita's statements in full.
