UK DJ and producer Richard Norris has written a memoir.
Available from April 2024 via White Rabbit Books, Strange Things Are Happening documents his journey from punk through the emerging DIY indie culture to producing one of the earliest acid house albums as Jack The Tab. It also reflects on the St Albans artist's time spent at seminal UK house music parties Shoom and Spectrum, finding fame as one half of electronic duo The Grid, and working with legendary Clash frontman Joe Strummer.
"It's been a blast travelling down the sonic rabbit hole I first dived headlong into as a teenager," said Norris. "There's anecdotes and tall tales aplenty here, many strange things happened, and continue to do so, but first and foremost I wanted to create and deliver an engaging piece of writing."
