  • Soundgas will auction off almost 250 rare and exotic electronic instruments at its Studio & Recording Equipment Sale next week. The UK-based firm is selling a very wide mix of audio gear and synths from private owners and other businesses. Highlights include a reissue Moog System 35 modular still in its crate, a Buchla Skylab, an OSC OSCar, a PPG 1002, a Yamaha DX-1, lots of rare PAiA synths, and an RSF Kobol Expander. There are also many affordable lots, such as analogue mixers, FX, modular gear and instruments that aren't in full working order, such as a Roland RS-505 string synth that needs some TLC. To take part in the auction you need to register. This involves either a €3 fee or a 3 percent premium if you win anything. If you just want to browse, sign up for the 3 percent fee, but if you intend on bidding, the flat fee would be a smarter option. All wins are subject to extra buyer's fees of 18 percent and you may have to pay 20 percent VAT on top of that, depending on where you're based, so ensure you verify all the fees before placing any bids. More lots and information are being added between now and the date of the auction. Browse the full catalogue. The auction starts at 4 PM BST on Wednesday, September 27th.
